HOLLYWOOD, CA December 15, 2009 The Jim Henson Company, an established leader in family entertainment, has re-upped Halle Stanford with a long-term agreement and has promoted her to Executive Vice President of Children’s Entertainment. The announcement was made today by Lisa Henson, CEO, The Jim Henson Company. “Halle is an integral part of our company and has successfully re-launched our children’s slate, leading the creative and production teams for both ‘Sid the Science Kid™’ and ‘Dinosaur Train™’,” said Henson. “She has a deep understanding of our brand and a strong commitment to creating engaging entertainment for children of all ages. With her new agreement in place we are assured of exciting growth across all platforms in this category.
Stanford joined The Jim Henson Company in 1993 and was most recently Senior Vice President of Children’s Entertainment. She leads the company’s development and production of all preschool and children’s programming for television, direct-to-to-video and internet productions in animation and live-action formats. Stanford has worked on several of the company’s well-known properties as an executive producer including the new hit series “Dinosaur Train,” the Emmy®- nominated “Sid the Science Kid” (both airing on PBS KIDS®), and the soon to launch “Wilson & Ditch: Digging America” webisodes, also for PBS. In addition she is an executive producer on “Pajanimals,” currently airing on Sprout. Stanford is currently leading development on the animated series “The Skrumps,” based on the collectible vinyl toys, and “The Doozers,” an animated preschool series based on the popular characters from “Fraggle Rock.” Previous projects include “Bear in the Big Blue House,” “Muppets Tonight,” “Telling Stories with Tomie dePaola,” and “Animal Jam.”
