Mirmalek adds “Jim Henson created a coming-of-age masterpiece that fills viewers with joy, enchantment, and a sense of belonging. At the Labyrinth Experience & Masked Ball, we aim to recreate some of that magic and not only celebrate the film, but also Jim’s birthday!” Jim Henson would have been 87 on 24th September 2023.

Jim Henson’s Labyrinth (1986), directed by Jim Henson and written by Terry Jones is a musical fantasy film, based on the conceptual designs by legendary fantasy artist Brian Froud and executive produced by Star Wars creator George Lucas. Plot: Frustrated with babysitting on yet another weekend night, Sarah (Jennifer Connelly), a teenager with an active imagination, summons the Goblins to take her baby stepbrother away. When little Toby actually disappears, Sarah must follow him into a fantastical world to rescue him from the Goblin King (David Bowie). Guarding his castle is the labyrinth itself, a twisted maze of deception, populated with outrageous characters and unknown dangers. To get through it in time to save Toby (Toby Froud), Sarah befriends the creatures in the Labyrinth, in hopes that their loyalty isn’t just another illusion in a place where nothing is as it seems!

Labyrinth has become a popular cult classic inspiring cosplayers, artists, creators, and musicians around the globe.
