Jim was justifiably proud of his new headquarters on East 69th Street, purchased in late 1977 and renovated over more than a year. The immediate success of The Muppet Show had made it possible for Jim to decorate the building to his satisfaction, and he was delighted to invite his friends and colleagues to see it at an open house party. The whimsical interiors did not go unnoticed, and Interior Design magazine devoted several pages of its February 1980 issue to describing the joyful space.
