Hollywood, CA, February 21, 2006 – Dan Scharf has been named Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs at The Jim Henson Company. The announcement was made today by Peter Schube, President and COO, to whom he will report. In this position, Scharf will supervise business and legal affairs of all US film, television and additional businesses for the company.
Prior to joining The Jim Henson Company, Scharf was Executive Director of Business Affairs at
Disney/ABC Cable Networks group. Before that, he was Director of Business and Legal Affairs at Fox
Television Studios and Hollywood Resident Counsel for the Screen Actors Guild. In his early career he was a public defender for Sonoma County.
“Dan’s experience in both broadcast and production business and legal affairs gives him useful insight that will greatly benefit all aspects of our business,” said Peter Schube, “I personally will rely heavily on him as we continue growing our development slate and library, and I am confident thathe will meet the unique challenges of a creative company like Henson.”
Scharf received his Juris Doctor from the School of Law at the University of California, Davis after
completing his Bachelor’s Degree in English at Columbia University in New York.
