Dan Scharf

Executive Vice President of Business Affairs and General Counsel

Based in Los Angeles, Mr. Scharf is the head of The Jim Henson Company's Business & Legal Affairs as well as General Counsel. He oversees the Company's deals across all platforms, including television, feature film, and new media matters. Mr. Scharf's responsibilities include the procuring and structuring of co-production and co-financing opportunities worldwide. He oversees all company legal matters, licensing, production financing, and business partnering in both the broadcast and production businesses.

Prior to joining The Jim Henson Company, Mr. Scharf was Executive Director of Business Affairs at the Disney/ABC Cable Networks group. Before that, he was Director of Business and Legal Affairs at Fox Television Studios and Hollywood Resident Counsel for the Screen Actors Guild. In his early career he practiced criminal law, and was a public defender in the State of California.

Scharf received his Juris Doctor from the School of Law at the University of California, Davis after completing his Bachelor's Degree in English at Columbia University in New York City, New York.
